New York City-based clinical psychologist Dr. Michael A Civin, Ph.D. co-founded the very influential Rose Hill Psychological Services in 2007, and he still serves as a senior psychologist there. The ability to practice medicine is given only to those willing to persevere through many log years of study. Unlike many professions, there are many years of study required in order to prepare for the field. In order to reach the goal of medical professional, they must hold multiple degrees as well as spend years honing in on their craft. Michael A Civin PhD is no exception. In 1968, he graduated from Harvard College with his A.B. degree. And he did not simply graduate, he graduated with cum laude honors from Harvard College. He then attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine from 1968-1969 and also The University of Oregon which was where he earned his Masters of Arts degree in 1970.

It was after earning his Master's degree that he realized that he wanted to go into the field of psychology. He then set out to earn a second Masters of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from the Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University in 1988. After that, he took the final step to become a psychologist by completing his Postdoctoral Certificate in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. Michael Civin PhD was determined to help people through the practice of psychology and has done that for over twenty-eight years. He continues to practice clinical psychology in the Bronx in New York City.
